Fortune Gems 3: Paylines, Symbols and Multipliers
Fortune Gems 3 has a small board, but that does not make every part of its payout calculation obvious. The key distinction is between forming a line, changing a symbol and applying a multiplier to a qualifying award.
A 3x3 board with five lines
JILI describes three reels with three positions each and five lines. That gives nine visible positions, not nine lines. Lines describe paths used to evaluate combinations; the board dimensions describe where symbols can appear.
The diagram shows positions only. The public entry does not map the five line paths, so drawing guessed horizontal or diagonal connections would imply a rule we have not established. Use the actual line diagram to identify which positions belong together.
A symbol split and a multiplier answer different questions
A split changes the symbol arrangement or state according to the game rule. A multiplier changes a specified award. One concerns the evaluated symbols; the other concerns an amount. The brief supplier entry names both but does not provide the complete calculation sequence.
To resolve a result, look for the order: initial board, symbol effect, qualifying combination and final award. An animation alone may not reveal which step produced the final number.
